Episode 8 - Slaughter of the Soul by At the Gates

Let's get metal. Much like 'Endtroducing' by DJ Shadow, and 'Jane Doe' by Converge, 'Slaughter of the Soul' is already heralded as a classic by musos and critics at large.
And it's easy to see why. Every sound on this record has been replicated by most metal bands. From the legions of hardcore, grind and crust bands that regularly pinch the guitar tones, to Pantera and metal bands there after straight up stealing the drum sounds, the quality and legacy of this record is unquestioned.
But Chris had never heard it, and as seasoned metalcore fans, Mark and Weaver thought it was only fair to show him the way.
The results are somewhat predictable.
The influence this record has had alone is probably comparable to that of 'Jane Doe', but does that mean it should be added to our discography? Only you can tell us that. So vote on our Facebook page and let us know.
